Best Movies of 2009

- Avatar (in 3D). As whole it's VERY entertaining and visually stunning adventure.
- Inglorious Basterds. Another fine Tarantino joint. Loved it, hated parts of it, guaranteed Tarantino in a different place we are used to.
- Battlestar Galactica: The Plan. I'm actually one of the few who likes this movie.

Best TV-series of 2009

- Battlestar Galactica. Of course! Best scifi-series in the World. I liked the ending. I liked almost about everything about it
- House. My favorite doc - always will be
- Big Bang Theory. Every nerd and geek should watch this!

Best Games of 2009

- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Uncharted 2. I don't even play this. I watch my brother play. It's like watching a modern day Indiana Jones movie :D kindasorta
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. So addictive. So much stuff to do.

Here you go. I could list best books, albums, bands and all that but I'll leave it here. What are your choices? What do you think of mine?

Yep. I just saw the 2nd Star Trek movie for the first time in my life. Sure I've heard about it and seen some clips but this was the first time I saw it from start to finish - thanks to santa for bringing me the DVD ;) - Btw, first ST-movie I ever saw was the one where Mr. Spock swims with the whales :)

Okay. Christmas is now behind us and there will be another one next year.

I just wanted to tell what I got as "art-wise" from dear old santa clause. These would most likely affect to my deviations here.

So, my brother ([link]) got me this oil painting set with colors, brushes, canvas and easel - the whole deal. It's well enough to get me excited and to get me started experiencing the world of oil painting. Thanks for the great x-mas gift.

Another art-related gift I got affects to my photography. My parents got me a Speedlite 270EX flash for my Canon EOS 450D camera. Now I can adjust the exposure-levels MUCH better when I take pictures. No more over exposed pics because of the direct flash. I here it was expensive too and I'll do my best to take better and better shots with it.

Have a good rest of the year 2009!

A movie to see

Sun Dec 20, 2009, 10:39 PM
Yep.

I saw James Cameron's AVATAR last Sunday. In 3D.

If you saw the trailer and thought like "nah, I think I pass. Doesn't look anything special" - WRONG! Trailer is bullshit compared to the shiny piece of CGI-gold this movie is. It's a journey to the world you've never seen before! Sure, the basic story-line is old as Dances with the Wolves is but the way its told to the audience is something REALLY breathtaking.

Fan of CGI? Fan of adventure? Go see the movie. IN 3D! Yes, it's the only way.

As I have mentioned in my other sites - there's only two words to describe this movie:

FUCKING
EPIC

Ramblings of a lonesome freelance artist

Indeed.

I can now call myself officially a "freelance artist". Did my first official commissions to people who can actually make things available for several other people. Project I was involved was a non-paying gig but I'm still proud of my involvement in it :) I made cover art for a music video or should I say for its CD release. It was mind numbing but rewarding. I haven't seen the end result yet but it's coming and I'll let you know and see how it turned out.

Finn-Strip (my webcomic - [link] ) is going strong. I've actually kept my 'Mon-Wed-Fri' schedule pretty good for 1-2 months now and that makes me proud of myself. Keeping up with the schedule is the number one rule to achieve a strong and faithful readership in webcomics - but it might take its own time since there are number of webcomics on the webz.

Now I just have to whip out FIVE x-mas related Finn-Strips before Christmas eve and I'll be happy with myself... I have this empty script page in front of me. It needs to be full of script ideas by the end of the day.

In other words I'm trying to practice my Star Wars characters. I've never actually payed any attention of drawing my favorite movie characters and I'm now trying to keep it up and draw 'em some more. Oh, yeah. There's already a "Han Solo face practice" piece available in my gallery. Check it out @ [link]

I hope you enjoy the past, present and are excited about the future ;)

20,000 pageviews!
